Recently, the SPIC Biru Botuo 100 MW Photovoltaic Energy Storage Project constructed by SDEPCI as the EPC contractor, has achieved grid-connected power generation. The project is located in Naqu City, the highest-altitude city in China, and serves as a critical local energy supply initiative. It plays a vital role in driving regional economic growth, maximizing the advantages of clean energy resources, and advancing the construction of clean energy infrastructure.
Since the commencement of the project, the EPC contracting department in Biru has meticulously organized and executed plans. It has overcome extreme natural challenges including high-altitude hypoxia, severe ultraviolet radiation, and frigid winters, while addressed difficulties such as tight timelines, slow transportation, and resource scarcity. The project achieved high-quality grid-connected power generation on the first attempt, accumulated valuable experience in ultra-high-altitude new energy construction and solidified the engineering brand of Snowy Region SDEPCI.
This project is the largest-capacity new energy project and the highest-altitude centralized Photovoltaic project of SPIC in Xizang, with an installed capacity of 100,000 kW and a 20 MW/80 MWh electrochemical grid-forming energy storage system. The Photovoltaic power station achieves an average annual grid-connected power generation of approximately 130 million kWh, saving about 4,400 tons of standard coal annually and demonstrating significant energy-saving and emission-reduction benefits.
