On 26 December 2018, SDEPCI and Pakistan's National Transmission and Distribution Company (NTDC) signed the EPC contract for the ADB-201 220kV transmission line project of the Asian Development Bank in the Avari Hotel, Lahore, Pakistan. This event marking an vital step in the internationalization of SDEPCI's power transmission and transformation projects.
ADB-201 220kV transmission line project is an international open bidding project with 4 packages, and engineering contracting companies from various countries. There were 30 companys participated in this bidding. But SDEPCI eventually won the bidding for Package 2, Package 3, and Package 4, which are 150km, 100km, and 110km transmission lines.
In December 2017, the Asian Development Bank approved the financing agreement of ADB-200 series transmission and substation project submitted by Pakistan National Transmission and Distribution Company. SDEPCI immediately followed up to this project and started the bidding preparation for Package 2, Package 3 and Package 4 projects. After fierce bidding, SDEPCI won the bidding for all the three projects with the first ranking.
Since the national "Belt and Road" initiative cames out, SDEPCI has been actively exploring overseas EPC market with the strategy of "Three Creations and Two Harmonisations". SDEPCI treated the State Power Investment Corporation(SPIC)---the major country for investment and maintenance of State Power Investment Corporation(SPIC) as the key country for development. In the next step, under the guidance of the concept of relying on and serving SPIC, SDEPCI will organise a strong team to execute the project well and accumulate experience for SIPC to carry out related business in Pakistan.
More than 70 people attended the signing ceremony, including the president, general manager, and managers from all branch depertments of Pakistan National Transmission and Distribution Company (PNTDC), Asian Development Bank, Supervisory units, and relevant personnel of SDEPCI.
